BLUE
the light modulator
The basic physics of artificial light are investigated through the design of Blue, which uses the concept of illusion to portray light. Using shattered glass to refract the light into a calming, water-like effect through one view and a red reflector to make it look dramatic through another, the entire structure modulates these two effects and creates this illusion. As a result, 100W of light energy get scattered, refracted, diffused, tinted and filtered through Blue.
Light dances and makes its way through a repurposed pipe breathing new life into it.
'All things in nature are dark except where exposed by the light.'
